The creator of the experimental Gram (GRAM) token, Oleg Oskolsky, made a radical decision: to stop mining and burn half of the entire coin emission. This event, which took place on September 30, caused a strong reaction in the market and led to an unexpected increase in the GRAM rate.

Oskolsky initially launched an experiment in GRAM mining using modified smart contracts in January 2024. This idea was inspired by the distribution mechanism of the original Gram (GRM) token of the Telegram Open Network (TON) project. However, after only eight months, the experiment was completed, and half of all issued coins were destroyed.

As a result of the burning, the total capitalization of the project was halved, from $18.4 million to $9.12 million. Nevertheless, investors perceived this event positively, and the GRAM rate soared by more than 81%.
