Tether and Circle, the largest stablecoin issuers, have significantly increased their issued tokens since the start of 2025.
According to Onchain Lens, Tether and Circle have collectively issued $8.5 billion worth of stablecoins since the start of 2025. Circle, the issuer of USDC, has authorized the issuance of 6.5 billion USDC, while Tether, the issuer of USDT, has issued 2 billion USDT.
Tether’s last major USDT issuance was on February 4, 2025, on the TRON network, when 1 billion USDT was issued.
At the time of writing, USDT has a market cap of over $140 billion, while USDC has a market cap of over $55 billion.
