According to Beosin Alert, the hackers exploited a vulnerability in the Infini smart contract. They exchanged the stolen $49.5 million in USDC for 17,696 ETH and transferred the funds to an external wallet. Lookonchain analysts confirmed that the attacker conducted the transactions through the Tornado Cash crypto mixer, which makes it difficult to track the stolen assets.
According to preliminary information, the attack was carried out by an insider. The developer who participated in the creation of the contract retained administrative rights and used this to withdraw funds 100 days later.
