US digital asset exchange Coinbase has announced plans to introduce new futures on its platform. Oil and gold futures contracts will soon be available on Coinbase, according to a press release from the company.
While cryptocurrency futures remain an important part of Coinbase’s business, the company wants to expand the range and give investors the ability to manage risk between different asset classes.
Starting June 3, new gold and oil futures will be available under the designations NOL and GLD. Contract sizes will be 10 barrels of oil and 1 troy ounce of gold, settled in U.S. dollars.
