Pharmaceutical company Cencora has fallen victim to the largest cyberattack in history, involving the Dark Angels ransomware. According to Bloomberg, the company was forced to pay hackers a record $75 million in bitcoin to restore access to its data.

The payment was made in three installments in March of this year after the hackers initially demanded double that amount. Despite confirming the payment, Cencora representatives refused to provide details about the incident.

In February, the company reported a cyberattack and subsequent leak of personal patient data. As a result of the incident, the attackers gained access to confidential information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, and medical data of patients.
