Patrick Gruen, ex-head of FTX Europe, bought at the Henry Aldridge & Son auction a gold watch that belonged to a millionaire who died on the Titanic. The lot was valued at $1.5 million.

Gruen, a German fintech entrepreneur, headed FTX Europe in 2022. Under his leadership, the unit operated in the region for just eight months.

After the collapse of FTX, Gruen was involved in litigation with the exchange. The company demanded the return of $325.5 million spent on the purchase of Swiss startup Digital Assets AG (DAAG), which was the basis for FTX Europe. The dispute was eventually settled and the European unit was sold to the former founders for $32.7 million.

Gruen claims he was unaware of the fraudulent activities of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Read the original article – https://incrypted.com/eks-rukovodytel-ftx-kupyl-za-1-5-mln-zolotye-chasy-pogybshego-na-tytanyke-myllyonera/.
